How Long Does AVG Last?

The AVG anti-virus program uses a license system for commercial products. The license you purchase determines how long your version of AVG lasts. When the license runs out, you must renew the license to continue using AVG. If you're not sure when your AVG license expires, you can check this information in the "Support" section of AVG on your computer.

Licenses
When you purchase AVG, you don't purchase the software -- you purchase a license to use that software for a definite period of time. AVG provides one- and two-year licenses for their retail products with a varying number of computers covered in different licenses. The free version of AVG doesn't have a license. Instead, it offers a limited number of features and must be updated yearly for the best possible protection.

Retail Licenses
AVG offers two duration levels for retail licenses: one-year and two-year. The cost of these licenses varies depending on what product you're buying and how many computers you're covering with AVG. For instance, the personal version of AVG Internet Security 2014 costs $55 for one computer; for three computers, that license costs $70. The personal license could cover up to 10 computers. The business version of AVG Internet Security 2014 covers a minimum of two computers for around $190, with a maximum number of 200 computers per license.

Finding License Information
If you need to find any information for your license -- such as when it expires or how many computers your licenses cover -- you can do so within the AVG program. Click "Support" in the AVG program and go to "License and Support." This will show your product name and how many computers you can install AVG on. You'll also see your license number and the date when your license expires. You can renew your license by clicking "Renew Now" beside the expiration date.

AVG Mobile
In addition to the desktop versions of AVG, you can also get the anti-virus program on your mobile device. Unlike the desktop versions, AVG for mobile devices doesn't use a licensing system. For instance, Android users make a one-time payment in the Google Play store for unlimited access to the AVG Antivirus Pro features. AVG also offers a free version of their anti-virus for Android, as well as free privacy apps for iOS devices.
